Its been a busy year and its flying by at lightening speed!
First of all pardon the expression but I killed 2 birds with one stone when I took Alyson B. Stanfield’s Social Media Immersion workshop. I got to cross off no. 2 (learn twitter) & no. 11( attend a workshop)! It was a great session and I quickly followed up with accomplishing no. 3 (create FB fan page) as well. I am also THRILLED to have my website (thank you Eleanor Grosch!!!) up and running and also the etsy shop. While not exactly finished, me etsy shop is set up–and in the next 6 months hope to have it fully updated and rarring to go!
No. 8 (connect with mentor artists) has been so fun! Every time I come across an artist I love I try to take a moment to drop them a note, or a tweet, and just let them know that I am a fan. It takes very little time and is just nice to do. We artists need all the encouragement we can get don’t we?
Moving on down the list–
I signed up for this daily email to help with no. 19 (read the Bible) but I must say, I really need to work on that! Just now crossed off no. 10-(take a class)- as I am currently in a Photoshop class-and I just ordered my software yesterday! Yipee! And you know I’m also in the Hello Soul Hello Business Class which is kinda blowing my mind a little.
Thanks to my sweet friend Colleen I got to cross no. 25 (listen to live music) off!
I got really crazy with no. 28 (embroider gifts!) I had so much fun! Don’t let the bed bugs bite–really..don’t ok
Rise and Shine~ that’s Seratonin and Caffeine molecules (did I mention my hubby is a chemist?)
my daughter actually said this to me one day “If you loved me, you’d let me SLEEP!” crazy kid~
Onward, shall we?
I recently joined the Bucks County Illustrators Society so that takes care of no. 32 (connect with illustrators in my area). I love this group!! They are all so incredibly talented-I was a nervous ninny at the first meeting when I shared some of my work. I look forward to many upcoming opportunities to connect more with this dynamic group!
I have also been working on my pie crust. (no. 16) but have not made those biscuits! (no. 17) although a friend gave me her fav recipe. I think that would be a fun post, don’t you? I will try to do that soon!
No. 18 (go camping again!) is really special and I have not made those reservations! Gotta get on that!
Although I put no. 14 and no. 15 on my list they are not things you can really ever cross off a list–I mean I want to continue to worry less & pray more, and aside from Downton Abbey, really what is there to watch of tv? Modern Family…that’s good.
Thankfully-no. 20 (vacation) was accomplished. I think this should be a yearly thing though.
A couple of things I have not done yet are write hope notes (no.5) and also no.’s 9, 12 & 13 (life drawing, craft show, and studio tour). I keep thinking I’m going to take a day off for an artist date and go to the art museum in Princeton and scatter those little hope notes, but I admit, I have not made time for it. But I WILL. I also will not be able to accomplish studio tour and craft show before May 2, but I will most assuredly be participating in the fall. I’ve been working on my studio getting it all schnazzy and TODAY I just ordered my scanner and printer (OHMYGOODNESS!!!) so I can make prints of my work to sell at the craft show. (Now this isn’t really considered “participating” but last year I did take 4 pieces of art to sell, and 3 of them sold in 2 hours!! SO that is nice encouragement!! I didn’t have a booth though so I don’t think that really counts…)
Its been a great year! I think another birthday painting would be fun… I’ll check back in soon with a few more of these to cross off. Especially the pie and biscuits!
