I’d like to introduce you to Monty, the Ball Python.

This is the companion piece to Stephen the turtle.  They both live in my daughter’s 4th grade class. Its a zoo!

I really hate snakes. I am terrified of them.  Even googling photos as reference for this made my skin crawl. I have the heeby jeebies just thinking about it. I didn’t want him to look too mean though–he’s a friendly snake.

With good behavior the kids can earn points, using them to do something fun. Like for instance, order in lunch and eat with a friend in the classroom, or stay in from recess when its cold outside, or….feed the snake. Yes, feed the snake.

What does he eat you might ask? What do you think he eats?

Poor Miss Mouse.  Maybe their mice don’t have little manicures and handbags, but still.

Monty’s gotta eat and he’s just doing what he’s intended to do. But it is gruesome listening to the stories! “Mom, we got to feed Monty today!!”
