It was beautiful
and by the time we got to the top to see the 41 acre glacial pond I was ready to jump in it.
That is until we saw a GIANT SNAKE swim right past, as we sat on the edge skipping rocks and catching our breath.
Then on the way down…..we heard crunching of twigs in the forest nearby…very nearby. We stopped. We listened. We looked.
Then a nice couple with a chihuahua (um, bear bait??) passed by and said “Hey we just saw a bear down the way a bit.” Woa. My daughter and I held hands as my hubby walked in front jangling his keys….and indeed we saw that bear. A baby bear tearing leaves off a tree. And no I did not stop to take a picture because where there’s a baby bear there’s a momma. SO we just kept going. THIS momma bear had her own baby to protect too!
This is my little cub after the hike….exhausted!
Such a trooper, that kiddo.
