What my wonderful clients have to say…

It has been 5 years since we first began our relationship with Heather. Her beautiful artistry, coupled with her wonderful sensibility and attentiveness make her a joy to work with. In the time that we have know Heather, she has brought her imaginative style and grace to no less than 6 full rooms, all of them individually unique in their own beauty. Rarely have have I met an artist who not only enjoys feedback on their work, but actually seeks it. Heather remains the consummate professional we are very proud to have her works in our house for our children to enjoy and learn from, and her work with us has indeed turned our house into a home.

I first met Heather 3 years ago when we were designing our oldest daughter’s nursery. I had a detailed vision of the perfect nursery but I could not find the words to describe it. After speaking to several artists that just didn’t get my vision, I had a delightful meeting with Heather. By simply listening and getting to know me, Heather was able to make the nursery of my dreams a reality.
Since then, Heather has created an amazing “big girl” room, a second nursery, a family wall and a beautiful one-of-a-kind wedding gift for us. Heather is a joy to work with! Her bubbly personality and warm smile are contagious. Heather has been a special part of the most important moments in our lives and she has become a dear friend to our entire family. I am so thankful for Heather and her incredible talent every night that I find peace at 2am in our beautiful nursery or when my 3 year old hugs me tight and says “Mommy, I love my room sooooo much!

Working with Heather is a way to make dreams come true. She listened to my ideas, waved her paint brush and made the walls of my son’s nursery come to life. Her color palette, happy animals, and storybook feeling was exactly what we wanted. Every time I walk into the nursery I smile!

One of the most rewarding aspects of publishing Migraine Expressions was working with so many wonderful artists and writers. April Heather Davulcu is one of those talented artists, and her two pieces of artwork in the book have had a real impact on many people. Not only was I privileged to work with Heather on a professional level, but also I consider her to be a friend. I hope we are able to meet in person some day, and I hope she never stops painting.

April Davulcu painted my home in Austin, Texas over 10 years ago. She was able to take my vague ideas and turn them into a beautiful mural of a vineyard and mountain scene in my family room, a whimsical room for my daughter, complete with “hair bows and perfume bottles”, and a ceiling of fluffy clouds and blue skies in my dining room. April was a joy to work with…creative, eager to please, and fun to chat with, too!

Several years ago, Heather embellished our home with some wonderful features.  One of my personal favorites is a cluster of hand painted fruit that still remains above my pantry door — “Color Splash” couldn’t  top this one!  My daughter loved the transformation of her bedroom into paradise as Heather added tropical flowers and palm trees to her walls.  We couldn’t stop there . . . Being responsible for the “campus improvement committee” at my daughter’s elementary school, I recruited Heather to produce some bright, colorful scenes in the hallway of the school store and cafeteria  – everyone was thrilled with the final project!   It was a joy having Heather in our lives to create some special memories . . . I still wish she was closer to Austin!  :)
